TUP - Turda Urban Public Transportation

 

TUP - Turda Urban Public Transportation is the new public transportation company of the city of Turda, subordinated to the Local Council. The 20 electric buses that make up the company's fleet were purchased with European funds and are equipped to the highest standards. All vehicles are equipped with video surveillance cameras, air conditioning, special ramps for people with disabilities and E-Ticketing system.

The modernization of public transportation is part of the European projects funded by the European Union based on the Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan, with the aim of significantly reducing pollution and creating an environmentally friendly urban mobility system. The funded projects also include the complete modernization of the streets on which public transport operates (with bike lanes), the modernization of the stations and green spaces and the implementation of Bike Sharing and E-Ticketing systems.

The 20 bus fleet is equipped with a contactless and paperless payment system. Thus, you can purchase tickets directly from the bus using your bank card and any application that scans the QR code for your mobile phone. We are the city with 100% electric public transportation, and these smart solutions are in our support to facilitate access to the services of urban public transportation.
